CITIZENS' COMMISSION ON SALARIES FOR ELECTED OFFICIALS

The Franklin County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants interested in representing four specific professional sectors - business, professional personnel management, legal profession, and organized labor - on the Franklin County Citizens' Commission on Salaries for Elected Officials ("Salary Commission").

The independent Salary Commission will review and set salaries for the elected offices of assessor, auditor, clerk, commissioners, coroner, prosecuting attorney (county portion of salary), sheriff, and treasurer.

Applicants must be registered Franklin County voters and have experience in personnel management. Voters interested in filling one of the four seats are encouraged to submit an application packet -- including an application, resume, and letter of interest - to Franklin County Human Resources.

Please click here to download the application form.

The 10-person Salary Commission will also include six citizens, two from each of the three commissioner districts. For those six seats, the auditor will conduct a lottery-style drawing of all registered voters.

Members of the Salary Commission are limited to two four-year terms. As outlined in RCW 36.17.024, county employees, officers, officials, and their immediate family members, cannot serve in any capacity on the Salary Commission.
